On September 1999, after a sequence of business successes, the company, under the guidance of Theo Filippopoulos, was listed on the Athens Stock Exchange. His business acumen soon led to strategic alliances which brought the company, which acquired the rights for more international titles, such as Harper’s Bazaar and Shape, and for Greek popular titles such as Tiletheatis and Tilerama, to the top of the Greek media market. During the years that followed, Attica Publications Group expanded its activities and developed a strong presence in the northern European media scene through strategic joint ventures in Hungary and in Romania. During the period 2001-2008 Attica also founded subsidiaries in Bulgaria and Serbia, acquired a 50% stake of “Prooptiki” - the leading DVD and theatrical distribution company of the country, as well as three highly popular radio stations (Athens Radio Dee Jay, Rock Fm and Lampsi).Theo Filippopoulos is today the President of Attica Publications Group, a media group with several subsidiaries and affiliated companies in Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria, as well as the President of Capital.gr which publishes the weekly financial newspaper Kefalaio and runs Capital.gr, the leading financial website in Greece.
