Platon Tinios
Assistant Professor, Dept of Statistics and Insurance Science, University of Piraeus, Greece
Platon Tinios, is an economist assistant professor at the University of Piraeus. In 2015/6 he is a Visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics. He studied at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford. He served as Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Greece from 1996 to 2004, specializing in the economic analysis of social policy. He was a member of the EU Social Protection Committee from 2000 to 2004. His research interests include pensions, ageing populations, social policy, labour economics and public finance. He is the author of books and papers in social protection in Greek and in English.
