Iskra Mihaylova
Member of the European Parliament, Alliance of Liberals and Democrats Party
Ms. Mihaylova has participated in numerous international forums as a lecturer and as an official representative of Bulgaria in her capacity of expertise. From 2005 to 2009, she served as the Deputy Minister for Regional Development in Bulgaria, responsible for the planning and programming of regional policy and for the preparation, negotiation and implementation of the operational programme ‘Regional Development’ 2007-2013, as well as the territorial cooperation programmes.
From 2009 to 2013 she was a Member of the Bulgarian Parliament. In 2014 she was elected as a Member of the European Parliament where she sits with the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats Party. She was elected chairperson of the European Parliament Committee of Regional Development while she is also a member of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the relations of the EU with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
